We have all experienced pain in our everyday lives whether it’s from work, household activities, gardening or exercise.

A musculoskeletal physio is skilled in assessing your body and treating any disorder that affects the musculoskeletal system, which includes; bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves.

At Body IQ our physiotherapist uses evidence-based practice to ensure you get the correct diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for the musculoskeletal problem you have:

  • joint and soft tissue mobilisation

  • joint manipulation

  • neural flossing (to increase nerve mobility)

  •  dry needling

  •  trigger point therapy

  • postural correction

  • exercise prescription

  • clinical Pilates rehabilitation

What is dry needling?

This technique is also known as Western Acupuncture. It involves inserting very fine acupuncture needles into the muscles to reduce spasm, alleviate pain, stimulate function and reduce facial tension.  The needling will also stimulate the brain to release pain-relieving chemicals and deliver improved blood supply to the area of treatment. This treatment is available during your physio appointment at no additional cost and is relatively pain free.
